A Historic Restaurant Renovation
“I want one of the nicest places in town,” requested the owner for his new restaurant project. Beginning with a longtime vacant historic building, the goal was to create a new – noticeably different restaurant; comforting, stimulating and high-end.
Done in a magnetic color palette of mineral shades; gold, copper, silver, mercury and pewter. Layers of lighting electrify the space. Challenged by the historic nature of the building with low ceilings and iron clad windows, the trick was to reconcile old and new by creating a modern feel in a historic space. This was achieved by a modern bowed design scheme with constant curves and movement. The use of multiple textures creates curiosity everywhere the eye falls: a natural balance to low ceilings creating the requested interest and intimacy while dining.
